Our Story
Mental Health is the Foundation of Jobsite Safety.
4x5 was founded in 2022 by Canyon State Electric to confront a stark reality in Arizona’s construction industry: construction workers die by suicide at four times the rate of the general population and are five times more likely to die by suicide than from a workplace accident.
Behind these numbers are the tradespeople, foremen, apprentices, and teammates who keep Arizona building.
We are making mental health a non-negotiable part of jobsite safety culture statewide. Through our programs, 4x5 equips workers and leaders with the skills to spot signs of distress, start direct conversations, and connect peers to lifesaving care—reducing stigma and building a culture where asking for help is a sign of strength.
Our Mission
Building a safer construction industry in Arizona that prevents suicide and improves lives through awareness, training, and peer support—creating stronger workers, stronger companies, and stronger communities.
Our strategy
We deploy evidence-based training programs to transform construction crews into active peer-support networks. By equipping workers to recognize risk and take immediate action, we reduce stigma and improve safety directly in the field. As this network grows, we will strengthen it with ongoing workshops, events and resources that foster protective factors to help individuals and companies thrive.
